Stormont Vail Health Now Offers Ion Robotic-Assisted Bronchoscopy

Stormont Vail Health now offers Ion robotic-assisted bronchoscopy. This powerful new screening tool can detect lung cancer earlier, safer, and with greater precision.
Our pulmonary team can reach tiny, hard-to-access lung nodules without invasive surgery – meaning faster answers, smaller risks, and better outcomes.
Since launching the technology in April, outcomes for patients have been life changing. Ask your doctor if it’s right for you. Already have a referral? We’ll get you scheduled quickly – just give us a call at (785) 270-0195, option 9.
We Celebrate DAISY Award Winner Maria Cortez

Congrats to Maria Cortez, a nurse in our Birthplace, who was recently honored with a DAISY award after taking swift, life-saving action when a mother experienced a medical emergency during labor.
“Thanks to her quick thinking, expert skills, and unwavering composure, my son is now a thriving 13-month-old—healthy, happy, and without any developmental concerns,” the patient said in her nomination. “I will forever be grateful for Nurse
Maria and I think about her often. She is an extraordinary nurse, and I credit her with saving my child’s life.” Read Maria’s full nomination.

Amy Burns featured on KMAN Radio
Amy Burns, President and Executive Director of the Stormont Vail Foundation, recently appeared on KMAN’s popular radio show/podcast, Within Reason, hosted by Mike Matson. Amy highlighted how the Foundation—and the generosity of its donors (many of whom include Stormont Vail Health team members)—is creating a meaningful impact throughout our region.
Amy shared how healthcare philanthropy at Stormont Vail goes far beyond events and donations, from providing nursing scholarships and funds for emergency patient needs, to supporting other local nonprofits. Thank you to Amy for shining a light on the power of giving and the incredible ways our Foundation supports the health of our community. Be sure to tune in to Within Reason on weekdays at 9 a.m. on News Radio KMAN to catch more compelling conversations!
