Stormont Vail Health Announces $1.5 Million Contribution to City of Emporia
Stormont Vail Health is proud to announce a $1.5 million charitable contribution to the City ofEmporia, reinforcing the healthcare organization’s deep-rooted commitment to the community and a shared vision for a vibrant, healthy future. This investment will support the City’s initiative to unify two beloved recreational facilities under one name: the Stormont Vail Health Sports Park. Within the park will be the DeBauge Family Soccer Complex and the Jones Family Aquatic Center—located at 4201 and 4202 W. 18th Ave., respectively. Over the next 10 years, Stormont Vail’s contribution will help fund significant improvements to both sites, enhancing access to wellness, recreation, and community connection. The Emporia City Commission will consider approval of the contract at its meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025.
We Celebrate Shawna & Janet: July 2025 Persons of the Moment

When a routine follow-up call turned into a crisis, RNs Shawnna Beck and Janet Spantgos responded calmly with compassion and teamwork, ensuring a patient in distress received immediate care.
Their story is a powerful reminder of what it means when we together own patient safety and treat every patient, visitor, and team member with compassion and dignity.
Congratulations, Jeannine!

We’re proud to celebrate Jeannine McClellan, a registered nurse (RN) in our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), for her DAISY Award!
During a recent procedure, Nurse Jeannine helped a young patient with special needs feel safe and calm. Her simple act of kindness made a lasting impact and is a beautiful example of the heart our nurses bring to every patient interaction.
Manhattan Campus Represents at Speedy PD Race for Parkinson’s

The Manhattan Campus recently hosted a booth as well as a team at the 17th annual Speedy PD Race for Parkinson’s disease at Tuttle Creek State Park. The Stormont Vail Health team was part of 1,055 participants in the half-mile, 5K, and 10K races.
