Stormont Vail Health Brings Magseed® to Flint Hills Campus, Advancing Breast Cancer Care

Stormont Vail Health is proud to lead the way in rural breast cancer care by introducing Magseed® technology for breast localization at its Flint Hills Campus in Junction City. This advanced alternative is designed to reduce stress for patients undergoing breast cancer surgery.

“We recently successfully performed our first breast cancer case using this advanced system. The patient reported an overwhelmingly positive experience, and we look forward to expanding access to this innovative care for more individuals in our community,” said Dr. Daniel Regier, General Surgeon at the Flint Hills Campus. “Bringing cutting-edge treatment closer to home for patients in the Flint Hills region is an exciting step forward.”

Unlike traditional wire localization, Magseed® uses a tiny magnetic marker that improves accuracy and comfort for patients. The seed can be placed at any time before surgery, giving patients greater flexibility. This marker allows surgeons to take the most cosmetic approach to remove cancer and often means patients complete surgery in one operation. The result: fewer disruptions, better outcomes, and a more positive experience.

Offering Magseed® at the Flint Hills Campus reflects Stormont Vail’s commitment to expanding access to advanced care in rural communities, ensuring patients don’t have to travel far for the high-quality healthcare they deserve.
