Stormont Vail Health Names New VP, IT, and Chief Information Officer

Stormont Vail Health has named Aaron Wootton as the new Vice President, IT, and Chief Information Officer for the regional integrated healthcare system that includes acute care hospitals in Topeka and Junction City, and multiple primary and specialty care centers and clinics across eastern Kansas. Wootton will begin his new duties Feb. 23, 2026.

Wootton has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare IT. He will lead all Information Systems operations across the Stormont Vail Health system. Wootton most recently served as Chief Digital Officer for Huntzinger Management Group, a national healthcare IT advisory and consulting services firm. He has also been Chief Information Officer for multiple healthcare systems.

Wootton was Chief Information Officer for Concord Hospital Health System in New Hampshire, and held several executive IT roles at Henry Ford Health, Detroit, Mich., including Central Market Vice President and CIO, System Vice President Enterprise Analytics, and System Vice President, IT Physician Alignment and Health Information Exchange (HIE). His early career included stints at several Michigan healthcare organizations – Michigan Heart, Saint Joseph Mercy Health System and Allegiance Health.

Wootton received both his Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration, Information Systems, from Cleary University, Howell, Mich. He is a member of College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME) and a Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO). His professional service has included chair of Truveta data integration committee and serving on the Michigan Health Information Network (MiHIN) Strategic Operations Council, where he was also a board member and chair of its Cyber Security Committee.
