Stormont Vail Health One of Six U.S. Hospitals with Cutting-Edge Spine Surgery Robot

Stormont Vail Health is proud to announce the addition of Mako Spine Robotics to its surgical offerings, making it one of only six hospitals in the United States to utilize this cutting-edge technology for spine procedures.

The Mako Spine Robot provides real-time, image-guided navigation during surgery, allowing for enhanced precision, improved outcomes, and faster recovery times for patients. This innovation reflects Stormont Vail’s commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care through investments in advanced medical technology.

“Mako allows us to perform spine surgery with a level of accuracy that wasn’t possible before,” said Dr. Chad Tuchek, neurosurgeon at Stormont Vail. “It’s a game-changer for both surgeons and patients.”

The integration of Mako Spine Robotics is part of Stormont Vail’s broader initiative to expand its Surgical Care service line, offering minimally invasive procedures and personalized treatment plans for patients across Kansas. The first procedure at Stormont Vail using the Mako Spine Robot was completed last month.
