Stormont Vail Health Welcomes Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Surgeon Erik Nott, M.D.

Stormont Vail Health is pleased to welcome Erik Nott, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle care, to the Stormont Vail Health Foot and Ankle Clinic.

After more than 23 years of service in the United States Air Force, Dr. Nott is beginning a new mission: helping patients stay active, maintain mobility, and improve their quality of life. He brings extensive orthopedic experience, including advanced fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery and a distinguished career caring for service members around the world.

Dr. Nott earned his medical degree from The University of Kansas School of Medicine, completed an orthopedic surgery residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, and completed a foot and ankle fellowship at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado.

During his military career, Dr. Nott served in a variety of clinical and leadership roles, including deployments with Air Force Special Operations teams and leadership of large multidisciplinary medical organizations. His experiences reinforced the value of teamwork, communication, and trust—principles that continue to shape his approach to patient care.

Dr. Nott believes listening is one of the most important parts of caring for patients. He works closely with each person to understand their goals and develop treatment plans that support function and mobility, whether treatment is surgical or nonsurgical.

“I hope patients leave understanding what’s going on, what we can do to help, and what the end goal of treatment is,” Dr. Nott said. “The goal is to maintain and improve function.”

Dr. Nott joins Dr. Henry Goppert at the Stormont Vail Health Foot and Ankle Clinic and is accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment, call 785-272-7600.
