Stormont Vail Hospital Pharmacy Renovation Nears Completion

After months of careful planning and phased construction, the newly renovated Pharmacy at Stormont Vail Hospital is nearly ready to open, marking a major milestone for acute care teams and patients.

Located in the South Tower basement, the Pharmacy stayed fully operational throughout the 18-month renovation thanks to a phased approach and our dedicated team.

Empowering Pharmacists in Acute Care

Our pharmacists are essential to our acute care teams. They collaborate with providers and other clinicians in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Department (ED), and inpatient units to deliver life-saving medications and expert guidance. The upgraded space enables faster response to urgent needs and supports clinical consultations that improve outcomes.

Efficiency That Drives Excellence

The renovation strengthens coordination between pharmacy and clinical teams for seamless care delivery. Key upgrades include:

  • Advanced sterile compounding equipment
  • Compliant cleanroom spaces
  • Modern technology systems

These enhancements help our pharmacists process orders faster, reduce turnaround times, and ensure timely medication delivery.

Advancing Experience, Safety, & Quality

Built with safety and quality at the forefront, the new pharmacy features state-of-the-art compounding hoods and cleanroom environments to minimize contamination risks and medication errors. These upgrades protect patients and foster a better working environment for staff, enhancing collaboration and experience.

A Milestone for Our Health System

Our Pharmacy team’s progressive approach, including integrating pharmacists with patient care teams, continues to drive safe medication use, quality, and experience initiatives. This new space supports their expertise, innovation, and impact across our health system.

We’re proud to share this milestone with our community and grateful to everyone who made it possible.
