How do I preregister with the Birthplace?

We offer an easy preregistration form on MyChart , our online patient portal. Simply fill out the form, and we will receive your information and have you in our records before your delivery date.

Can I have my tubes tied after delivery?

Yes, we offer tubal ligation after vaginal delivery. Please talk with your obstetrics provider ahead of your delivery to discuss the procedure.

How many family members or friends can I have in the delivery room with me?

We support a mother’s choice about the people she wants present during labor and delivery. During labor, the only limit to the number of family and friends is your comfort level. Whether you prefer a few people or a room full of family and friends, it’s your decision. During vaginal delivery, we limit the number of family and friends to four for safety. This also gives our delivery team room to work. After delivery, we encourage mothers to be alone with their baby for two hours before having visitors to support bonding and breastfeeding. If you are comfortable with visitors sooner than that, please let us know.

What is the visitation policy in the Birthplace?

We encourage quiet time each day from 2-4 p.m. to give you time with your baby. Visitation is allowed during those hours if you choose.

Where do I park and what door do I enter to get to the Birthplace?

Please use the Stormont Vail Hospital main entrance, which is open 24/7. Park in the parking garage across from the main entrance and enter through the revolving doors. Our front desk volunteers or Lobby Ambassadors can direct you to the Birthplace on the 4 th floor.

What supplies do I need to bring for myself and my baby?

We provide pads for the mother and diapers, wipes and feeding supplies for your baby.
