Stormont Vail Health and K-State Research Collaboration Highlighted
Bringing university research and real clinical experiences together is the focus of a unique partnership between Stormont Vail Health and Kansas State University – with collaboration recently being highlighted a new video.
The new video series called Next-Gen ‘Cats, highlight the work of K-State faculty, staff and students as they put the Next-Gen K-State strategic plan into action. The video about the Stormont Vail research collaboration shares information about the initiative that bases out of our Manhattan Campus, adjacent to K-State.
Carl Ade, Ph.D., Director, K-State Clinical Research Coordination Initiative, says in the video, “This opportunity is very unique, and I think it sets K-State apart from a lot of institutions, because it’s very uncommon for a state university like Kansas State University to partner with a private health care institution with the same mission of improving health care in the communities, advancing the education of students, and really strengthening both institutions.”
Stormont Vail Health to Host Global Wave of Light Vigil in Honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss
As October honors Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness, Stormont Vail Health encourages team and community members to support those who have gone through this unimaginable loss. On Tuesday, Oct. 15, Stormont Vail will host the Global Wave of Light vigil from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Stormont Vail Hospital courtyard, 1500 S.W. 10th Ave.
This event, organized by the Stormont Vail Mother and Baby Department, brings people together to honor the lives that, though brief, left a lasting impact on our hearts. As participants exchange stories and support, they will hold battery-operated tea lights to create a wave of light across the globe. Whether or not individuals have experienced this loss, Stormont Vail welcomes visitors to join and learn how to offer caring and understanding support to grieving families.
The Mother and Baby team hopes to see community members as they come together to illuminate the darkness and honor each little star that graced our lives for far too briefly.
Generous Donation Brings a Bit of Fun and a Piece of Home to Pediatric Patients
We’re immensely grateful to Gamers Outreach and Caspersight, who recently donated a PlayStation 5 GO Kart to Stormont Vail Health. This state-of-the-art portable video game kiosk was made just for hospitals to bring kids a little piece of home during their stay.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to Gamers Outreach and Caspersight for making this possible.

Asbury Drive Road Construction Starts This Week
Road construction on Asbury Drive in Topeka will begin this Wednesday, Oct. 9 and continue through Wednesday, Oct. 16. During this time, parking lot entrances to the Asbury Clinic will be impacted, with one entrance closing and one remaining open during the duration of construction. This means, if the North entrance is closed, the South entrance will be open and vice versa. Yard signs will be placed near the street to denote the open drive entrance for patients, visitors, and staff to easily see when approaching the clinic. A map with the affected road areas and two clinic drives is attached. Apologies for the inconvenience.
We together,
Dr. Kenagy
