We Together: A Communication of Stormont Vail Health

Dear Community Partners,

Here are today’s updates:

  • Fiesta Time for Stormont Vail’s Talent Acquisition Team
  • Walk with A Doc Starts with a Round of Music
  • Celebrating 40 Years of AMR in Topeka

Fiesta Time for Stormont Vail’s Talent Acquisition Team

The Stormont Vail Health Talent Acquisition team went to Fiesta Topeka to meet prospective team members – and celebrate a Topeka tradition. With a booth near the ever popular food lines, team members handed out Stormont Vail fans, which were very popular with attendees. Terri Dean, Director, Talent Acquisition, said the team had a fun time as well as made lots of connections. Thank you for representing Stormont Vail!

Walk with A Doc Starts with a Round of Music

Walk with a Doc the past Saturday had some musical flair when Dr. Craig Gernon led the group in a round of singing Home on the Range before the walk began. Dr. Gernon, a cardiologist, also shared information about heart health prior to the walk. The monthly walk is free for the community to have a healthy walk, and this month a group of employees from Gentiva Hospice also joined.

The August Walk with a Doc will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, with Dr. Dana Balderrama, who will talk about plastic and reconstructive surgery. The walk will start on the east side of Lee Arena at Washburn University. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Celebrating 40 Years of AMR in Topeka

Last Thursday, Stormont Vail’s community partner AMR (formerly Medevac) celebrated 40 years in Topeka. Stormont Vail Health joined past and present AMR staff and the community to celebrate this anniversary celebration.

Every day, AMR works closely with our hospital to ensure that Shawnee County residents receive the care they need. The pre-hospital care they provide is outstanding. We are proud of our EMS team members!

We together,
Dr. Kenagy
