Community and Nursing Reports Capture Milestones

Each year Stormont Vail Health creates annual reports to recognize and document our accomplishments of the past year. The Community Report and Nursing Report are provided in print and online as a way to tell our story. The “We Are Stormont” theme was used for the most recent reports. Stormont Vail’s Topeka Hospital Receives 2024 High 5 for Mom & Baby Premier Recognition

Stormont Vail Health has once again has been recognized for its ongoing commitment to excellence in maternity care. The organization’s Topeka hospital was recently recognized as a High 5 Mom & Baby Premier program, which reaffirms its commitment to supporting hospital staff by providing technical assistance and learning opportunities to ensure skills continue to improve while safeguarding the best outcomes for moms and babies in the hospital’s care.

Stormont Vail Health is proud of this recognition. Stormont Vail’s Flint Hills Campus hospital in Junction City is designated a High for Mom & Baby facility. Breastfeeding makes a big impact on the health of Kansans. Learn more about the program here: https://high5kansas.org

We encourage team members and local health professionals to join the 2024 Bi-State Stroke Consortium Symposium on March 29, where you’ll gain valuable, evidenced-based education to facilitate better outcomes for stroke patients.

Stormont Vail Health and Mayo Clinic experts will discuss advancements in stroke care, guidelines, and prevention as stroke survivors and family members highlight and humanize these insights with firsthand experiences of recovery and caregiving. “To Your Health” on WIBW-TV Tonight

Hear the story of how an emergency 911 dispatcher experienced a stroke followed by an amazing recovery – and how that has given him a new perspective since he often receives the first call people make when they are in need of emergency care. The story will air on tonight’s WIBW “To Your Health.” The segment will air at 10 p.m. on WIBW-TV, Channel 13. The segment will typically repeat at 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. Fridays on 13 News This Morning and be posted on wibw.com. The patient recently discharged from Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital, the Topeka rehabilitation hospital that is a partnership of Encompass Health and Stormont Vail Health.
