COVID-19 Vaccines: Patients Age 6 Months up to 5 Years

Following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Stormont Vail Health is finalizing plans to administer the Moderna pediatric vaccine for patients ages 6 months up to 5 years. Our teams have been working diligently to create plans for a smooth rollout to reach as many eligible patients as we can.

The vaccine has been ordered and is expected to arrive sometime next week. Stormont Vail plans to hold two mass vaccine clinics in early July at the Cotton O’Neil Pediatrics Clinic at 4100 S.W. 15th St. After the vaccine clinics, we will begin dedicating time at the end of the workday, a couple of days each week, for pediatric patients to get vaccinated.

The 6-month to 5-year-old vaccine series is different from other age group vaccines because of the dose. This age group will receive a smaller dosage with each shot.

Parents will receive more information from their pediatrician’s offices with details of the mass vaccine clinics and information about scheduling an appointment.

“To Your Health” on WIBW-TV Tonight

Meet one of our Children’s Miracle Network families who has benefitted from the Stormont Vail – Children’s Miracle affiliation on tonight’s “To Your Health” segment at 10 p.m. on WIBW-TV, Channel 13. Enhanced Primary Care Highlighted

An article written by Dana Blindt, MSN, RN, Director of Care Transformation, and Dr. George Wright, Vice President, Primary Care, appears in the current issue of Group Practice Journal, which is published by American Medical Group Association (AMGA).

Their article is a case study entitled “Design of the Times” which highlighted the enhanced primary care program that was developed during COVID-19 pandemic to provide outpatient care to COVID-19 patients and has since been utilized by patients with other chronic conditions.

We together,
Dr. Kenagy
