Stormont Vail Health’s Partnership in Mayo Clinic Care Network Benefits Patients, Region

Stormont Vail Health hosted Mayo Clinic Care Network partners Thursday in Topeka for a series of strategic discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration with the world-renown medical center and delivering the best in care to Stormont Vail patients across the region.  The annual meeting reinforced Stormont Vail’s commitment to providing exceptional care and leveraging Mayo Clinic expertise to enhance quality, safety, and patient experience.

Stormont Vail joined the Mayo Clinic Care Network in2014 to provide patients access to Mayo Clinic’s knowledge and expertise close to home. Through this relationship, Stormont Vail clinicians can also consult with Mayo specialists access clinical resources and collaborate on best practices.

During the Thursday visit, Stormont Vail leadership and Mayo Clinic partners learned about opportunities to enrich patient-focused care, and discussed the development of resources available to healthcare systems across the Mayo Clinic Care Network.  Stormont Vail Health is one of 50 healthcare organizations in the world to be a part of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, and the only one located in Kansas.

The group explored strategies to strengthen quality priorities, including:

  • Leveraging technology and AI tools to reinforce high reliability in clinical practice
  • Engaging team members in shaping protocols that build sustainable high-performance habits

“We’re grateful for the Mayo Clinic Care Network partnership and are energized by the recent discussion,” said Mary Martell, Stormont Vail Vice President, Strategy and Regional Development. “This momentum will guide our 2026 priorities and strengthen care for the communities we serve.”
