Stormont Vail Health Welcomes Several New Hospitalists
Stormont Vail Health is pleased to welcome three new providers to the Hospitalist team at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, located at 1500 S.W. 10th Ave., 66604.
Keirthana Aedma, M.D.

Dr. Keirthana Aedma brings a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to care, with a focus on listening, empathy, and trust. She enjoys getting to know her patients, hearing their stories, and working together to find answers that can make a real difference during their hospital stay.
Dr. Aedma earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Kakatiya Medical College in India and continued her training in the United States, completing an internal medicine residency at The University of California Riverside School of Medicine. She is currently a research fellow with Mayo Clinic Health System.
“What I enjoy most about medicine is being able to bring a meaningful change into my patients’ lives,” Dr. Aedma said. “I want them to feel heard, understood, and confident that they are cared for.”
Dr. Aedma was drawn to Stormont Vail because of its welcoming, team-oriented culture and the chance to live closer to family. As a hospitalist, she will partner with patients, families, and care teams to make hospital stays as smooth, clear, and supportive as possible from admission to discharge.
Lal Muhammad, M.D.

Dr. Lal Muhammad’s interest in medicine is deeply personal, driven by early family experiences that shaped his commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. He is dedicated to supporting patients and families during vulnerable moments and ensuring that his patients feel heard and actively involved in their care decisions.
“I take pride in being able to explain complex medical concepts in a way that patients and their families can easily understand,” said Dr. Muhammad. “I’m passionate about providing the education and support they need for their well-being.”
Stormont Vail’s strong sense of community, collaborative environment, and values drew Dr. Muhammad to join the health system. After earning his medical degree from Liaquat National Hospital and Medical College in Pakistan, he moved to the United States, where he completed a three-year internal medicine residency at UHS, Wilson Medical Center, in New York.
As a nocturnist, Dr. Muhammad plays a critical role in delivering high-quality care during overnight hours, with a focus on communication, continuity, and achieving the best possible patient outcomes.
Adil Sarvar Mohammed, M.D.

Dr. Adil Sarvar Mohammed was born and raised in Telangana, India, where he completed medical school before moving to the United States to continue his medical training. He completed a research fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Arizona and an internal medicine residency at Central Michigan University.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Mohammed has built an extensive research portfolio with a focus on cardiovascular medicine and evidence-based care. His work has earned honors including Resident of the Year, the Chair’s Resident Research Award, and Best Poster Presentation at the Central Michigan University Research Symposium.
As a nocturnist, Dr. Mohammed is focused on supporting patients and care teams during overnight hours, when medical needs often require rapid assessment, collaboration, and clear communication. He believes quality care means not only treating illness but also ensuring patients feel heard, respected, and involved in decisions affecting their health.
