Stormont Vail Health to Host 2026 Excellence in EMS Award Celebration

During National EMS Week (May 17–23, 2026) and National Trauma Survivors Day (May 20), Stormont Vail Health invites the community to attend the 2026 Excellence in EMS Award Celebration, from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 22 at 1615 S.W. 8th Ave. in Topeka.

This community event honors the lifesaving work of emergency medical services professionals and recognizes trauma survivors whose strength, resilience, and recovery reflect the full circle of care.

Attendees can expect a family‑friendly atmosphere with food trucks and refreshments, therapy dog visits, activities and yard games, and resource booths highlighting trauma recovery and community support.

Stormont Vail Trauma Services will recognize a local EMS professional who demonstrated exceptional care and community service in someone’s moment of need with the Excellence in EMS Award.

Community members are encouraged to nominate an EMS professional who demonstrated extraordinary care, compassion, or professionalism. Nominations are accepted year-round and can be submitted online at Excellence in EMS Award.
