Stormont Vail Health to Host 2026 Older Adult Resource Fair
Stormont Vail Health will offer older adults and caregivers a free, walk-in opportunity to learn practical ways to stay safe, healthy, and independent at the 2026 Older Adult Resource Fair. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, at the Community Resources Council (CRC) CARE Center @ Stout, 2303 S.W. College Ave., in Topeka.
New this year, attendees can enjoy hands-on exploration and education by visiting resource stations to collect stamps for a bingo-style activity. Each station will highlight a specific topic, such as fall prevention or safe driving, while connecting participants with local resources and prevention tips. Completing a bingo earns a small gift and entry into a grand prize drawing.
“We wanted to create an experience that feels approachable and useful right away,” said Annie Buckland, Injury and Violence Prevention Coordinator with Stormont Vail Trauma Services. “The goal is to make safety information easier to understand and use.”
Topics include fall prevention, safe driving, how conditions such as stroke and neurological disorders can affect mobility and safety, and age-related body changes that raise the risk of emergencies.
CarFit checks will be available, along with resource tables highlighting community programs and upcoming learning opportunities, including an AARP Safe Driving Course planned for later this spring.
