We Celebrate Caroline Abrahamson

Caroline Abrahamson, a speech language pathologist with our Rehabilitation Services team, reminds us that healing isn’t clinical—it’s personal. Whether helping a patient regain communication after a stroke or supporting a patient with dementia, her actions speak louder than words.
You Go, Koko! 🌻 First-Ever Sunflower Award Recipient

Congrats to Koko Fuentes, patient care technician (PCT) in the Stormont Vail Hospital Emergency Department (ED), for receiving our first Sunflower Award for Extraordinary Nursing Support Staff!
Koko never left her patient’s side—even when things got tough. Her dedication made all the difference for the patient’s daughter-in-law and embodies what the Sunflower Award stands for: going above and beyond in patient care.
Congratulations, Maci! 🌼🩺

We’re proud to recognize Maci, a registered nurse (RN) with our Pediatric Care team, who made a life-changing impact on one patient by providing something just as important as expert care: emotional support, kindness, and connection. Her actions remind us that nursing is more than a profession—it’s a calling.
Tiffany Naccarato, APRN, and Chris Guhr, APRN, featured on KMAN Radio

If you missed Tiffany Naccarato, Cardiology APRN, at the Manhattan Campus, joining Mike Matson on Within Reason with Mike Matson last week, you can catch her full interview here. Tiffany shared insights into heart health, what drives her, and a passion that is near and dear to her heart.
This Wednesday, October 22 at 9 a.m., we have Chris Guhr, Weight Management APP, Manhattan Campus, joining to talk about how weight management is much more than shedding pounds.
As a main sponsor of the show, Stormont Vail Health is proud to spotlight the work, voices, and stories, shaping our region’s health landscape. Tune in live on KMAN radio at 1350 AM, 93.3 FM, or 93.7 FM – or stream online here. You can also listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, or Audible.
Small Moment, Big Impact in Guest Experience

The following experience (edited for privacy) was shared by a visitor who was so appreciative of the acts of kindness from Deborah Smith, Guest Experience Ambassador.
“I have been @stormontvailhealth nearly every day for the last 3 weeks… I walk in every morning through security and a woman named Deborah prints out my name sticker. About 5 days ago she started recognizing me and remembering my name… The last two days she sees me heading through security and already has my sticker printed when I walk up to her desk. She always greets me by name and tells me to have a good day. She brings me joy every morning…Today she had my tag ready for me with a sweet smiley face sticker. I almost cried. It’s the little things… THANK YOU Deborah!”
Good Samaritan Shout Out
The following was sent to Patient Experience on Wednesday, Oct. 15. Shout out to these nurses for stepping up and helping someone in need. On or off the clock, Stormont Vail Health nurses are the BEST!
“Today as my hubby and I were leaving Bobo’s, I tripped and fell on the sidewalk. From the parked car I happened to fall in front of, out popped two nurses from Stormont-Vail Cotton O’Neil! They picked me up, asked how I was feeling, put a band aid on my bleeding thumb, and advised me to check in with the doctor who had prescribed my Eliquis, as I had hit my head in the fall. I thanked them, but didn’t get their names. If you have an internal newsletter, please highlight these sweet ‘good Samaritans.’ Thanks!”
