We Celebrate DAISY Award Winner Keely Luetje, RN

Nurses go above and beyond daily to provide patients and families with excellent care. For Keely Luetje, RN, at the Stormont Vail Health Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Topeka, making a difference starts with encouraging and empowering her patients to communicate their needs effectively. For this reason, we celebrate Keely for receiving the DAISY Award!

The DAISY Award celebrates and recognizes nurses who go the extra mile as a way to thank them for the care and compassion they provide. Keely Luetje, who has provided care at Stormont Vail since 2019, received a nomination from her patient’s parents, expressing her impact on their lives.

“Nominating her for the DAISY Award is just a small way to thank her and let her know how much we appreciate her care for our son. We will never forget her and want to share how she impacted our lives. She was always smiling and positive. She would challenge him when things got difficult. She was someone who he felt comfortable talking to. Our son is not the most talkative person, so it was very important to have a nurse who could encourage him to communicate his needs and feelings. We cannot thank her enough.”

Keely, congratulations on winning the DAISY Award! Communicating and expressing emotions can be challenging enough for adults, let alone kids. Your ability to encourage and empower your young patients to speak up about their wants and needs is priceless and something we’re proud to have. Thank you for being part of our team!
