We Celebrate DAISY Award Winner Sara Cook, BSN, RN

Nurses go above and beyond daily to provide patients and families with excellent care. For Sara Cook, BSN, RN, at the Cotton O’Neil Neurosurgery and Spine Center in Topeka, going beyond expectations means connecting with and caring for her patients on a personal level. For this reason, we celebrate Sara’s DAISY Award!

The DAISY Award recognizes nurses who go the extra mile as a way to thank them for the care and compassion they provide. Sara, who has provided care at Stormont Vail since 2018, received four separate nominations, underscoring her incredible impact.

“My stay at Stormont Vail has been a wonderful experience. If you can call being in the hospital wonderful,” one patient wrote in a nomination. “My night shift nurse, Sara Cook, has been a treasure and a friend. Her quick, sassy wit is so special. She puts you at ease, doesn’t get rattled, and makes you feel safe and cared for. I am so honored to have had Sara take care of me.”

Sara, congratulations on winning the DAISY Award! Being in the hospital can be stressful for anyone. It’s a relief knowing you are there to care for our patients and make them feel like a friend is beside them. Thank you for being part of our team!
